I brought a Hannibal roof rack two years ago for my Defender 90, it cost around £950 and from the use i have had out of it i have found it to be great value for the money. The roof rack is very easy to fit onto the roof with 3 gutter clamps either side of the rack. It has a solid, sturdy construction and has taken some punishment from me over the time i have had it. My roof rack is large enough to take my roof tent, expedition roof box and still have enough room for my jerry cans. The roof rack also has a built in fold away table that slides in under the cavity between the roof rack and roof of the landrover which i have found to be extremly handy while away on expeditions. There are many manufacturers of roof racks on the market these days but in my own personal opinion i recommend spending that little extra on a higher end of the market rack from a manufacturer like Hannibal, Frontrunner or Brownchurch as you pay for what you get and these racks will definatly last and stand up to the punishment you put them through. Hannibal Roof Tent
Hannibal 1.2m twin safari roof tent.

RRP £800-£1000

I bought my roof tent 18 months ago and fitted it to the roof rack on my Defender 90, which was a very simple task using the 4 bolts supplied, I do recommend at least 2 people to help with this as it involves lifting the tent above head height and the tents are not very easy to lift.

I used it everyday on my 2 month expedition (more…)
