The First Big SnowPosted by: Sam in Location Guides, Ski Season 07/08, tags: first snow, Porte du Soleil, skiing, snow, winter 2007
Well back to the snow. It first started to fall Monday night, the 14th November and it snowed and snowed for about 27hrs. We got about 7 to 8 ins or 20cm which is great as everything looks beautiful. So now there is snow on the 650kms of piste in the Porte du Soleil ski area, one of the Worlds largest ski areas surrounded by pretty small villages and served by an excellent network of lifts. So less of this, its time to get your skis, get here and have some fun. It’s not that far away, about 2hrs flying or a day’s drive from the UK. Now a few days on, the snow is still here and they say there is more on the way which is good news for everyone. Could this be a better year here, or are we just getting our hopes up? But the good news is the pistes are now open. So what are you doing still sat at home thinking about it?
